Novo Nordisk Receives FDA Approval for Awiqli Once-Weekly Basal Insulin

Novo Nordisk today announced that the FDA has approved Awiqli (insulin icodec) as the first once-weekly basal insulin for the treatment of adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Awiqli provides a convenient once-weekly dosing option compared to daily basal insulin injections. In the Phase 3 ONWARDS clinical trial program, Awiqli demonstrated comparable glycemic control to daily basal insulins with a similar safety profile.
