Amgen Presents 5-Year Cardiovascular Outcomes Data for Repatha in High-Risk Patients

Amgen announces 5-year follow-up data from the FOURIER trial showing sustained cardiovascular risk reduction with Repatha (evolocumab) in high-risk patients.

Amgen today presented 5-year follow-up data from the FOURIER Open-Label Extension (OLE) study showing that long-term treatment with Repatha (evolocumab) provides sustained cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with established cardiovascular disease. The data showed a 15% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) over 5 years compared to placebo. LDL cholesterol levels remained consistently low throughout the 5-year period, with a mean reduction of 59% from baseline. The safety profile of Repatha remained favorable with no new safety signals identified over the extended follow-up period. These results support the long-term use of Repatha for cardiovascular risk reduction.
