AstraZeneca Reports Real-World Data Showing Tezepelumab Reduces Asthma Exacerbations by 70%

AstraZeneca today presented real-world evidence from the PASSAGE study showing that tezepelumab (Tezspire) reduces severe asthma exacerbations by 70% in patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma in clinical practice. The PASSAGE study enrolled over 500 patients across multiple countries and confirmed the effectiveness of tezepelumab across different patient profiles, including those with low eosinophil counts. Tezepelumab is the first biologic to block thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), an epithelial cytokine that plays a key role in initiating and sustaining airway inflammation. These real-world results are consistent with the pivotal NAVIGATOR trial data and support the broad use of tezepelumab in severe asthma management.
