AstraZeneca Announces Positive Phase 3 LAURA Trial Results for Tagrisso in Stage III NSCLC
AstraZeneca reports positive Phase 3 LAURA trial results for Tagrisso (osimertinib) in unresectable Stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC following chemoradiation.
AstraZeneca today announced positive results from the Phase 3 LAURA trial evaluating Tagrisso (osimertinib) in patients with unresectable Stage III EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) following definitive platinum-based chemoradiation therapy. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival. The median PFS was 39.1 months for Tagrisso versus 5.6 months for placebo, representing an 84% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death. These results establish Tagrisso as the standard of care for patients with unresectable Stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC following chemoradiation.
