Pfizer Announces Positive Phase 3 BASIS Trial Results for Marstacimab in Hemophilia
Pfizer reports positive Phase 3 BASIS trial results for marstacimab, a subcutaneous anti-TFPI antibody, in patients with severe hemophilia A or B without inhibitors.
Pfizer today announced positive results from the Phase 3 BASIS trial evaluating marstacimab, a subcutaneous anti-tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) antibody, in patients with severe hemophilia A or B without inhibitors. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant reduction in the annualized bleed rate compared to prior prophylaxis. Marstacimab works by inhibiting TFPI, thereby restoring the balance of coagulation in patients with hemophilia. The once-weekly subcutaneous injection offers a convenient dosing option for patients. Pfizer plans to submit regulatory applications for marstacimab based on these results.
