Roche Receives FDA Approval for Tiragolumab Plus Atezolizumab in Esophageal Cancer

Roche announces FDA approval of tiragolumab plus atezolizumab plus chemotherapy for adults with previously untreated advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Roche today announced that the FDA has approved tiragolumab plus atezolizumab (Tecentriq) plus fluoropyrimidine- and platinum-containing chemotherapy for the treatment of adults with previously untreated advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. In the Phase 3 SKYSCRAPER-08 trial, the combination demonstrated statistically significant improvements in both progression-free survival and overall survival. This approval provides patients with esophageal SCC a new treatment option combining anti-TIGIT and anti-PD-L1 checkpoint blockade with chemotherapy.
