AbbVie Presents Long-Term Data Showing Venclexta Maintains Remission in AML
AbbVie announces long-term follow-up data from the VIALE-A trial showing Venclexta (venetoclax) plus azacitidine maintains durable remissions in acute myeloid leukemia.
AbbVie today presented long-term follow-up data from the VIALE-A trial showing that Venclexta (venetoclax) plus azacitidine maintains durable remissions in patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are ineligible for intensive chemotherapy. The 5-year overall survival rate was 14.9% for Venclexta plus azacitidine versus 9.6% for azacitidine alone. Among patients who achieved complete remission, the 5-year OS rate was 46.5%. These results demonstrate the long-term benefit of Venclexta plus azacitidine in AML and support its continued use as a standard of care in this patient population.
