Amgen Reports Phase 3 OCEAN(a)-OUTCOMES Results for Olpasiran in Cardiovascular Disease
Amgen announces Phase 3 OCEAN(a)-OUTCOMES trial results showing olpasiran significantly reduced major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with elevated Lp(a).
Amgen today announced results from the Phase 3 OCEAN(a)-OUTCOMES trial evaluating olpasiran, a small interfering RNA targeting Lp(a), in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and elevated lipoprotein(a). Olpasiran demonstrated a statistically significant 23% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events compared to placebo. The twice-yearly subcutaneous dosing was well-tolerated with a favorable safety profile. These results support olpasiran as a potential new treatment option for patients with elevated Lp(a) and established cardiovascular disease.
