AstraZeneca Announces Phase 3 SERENA-6 Trial Results for Camizestrant in Breast Cancer
AstraZeneca reports positive Phase 3 SERENA-6 trial results for camizestrant, an oral SERD, in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors in ER-positive HER2-negative breast cancer.
AstraZeneca today announced positive results from the Phase 3 SERENA-6 trial evaluating camizestrant, an oral selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD), in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors in patients with estrogen receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival compared to standard endocrine therapy plus CDK4/6 inhibitors. Camizestrant is a next-generation oral SERD with activity against ESR1 mutations. These results support the potential of camizestrant as a new oral endocrine therapy backbone for breast cancer treatment.
