Gilead Sciences Presents Analysis Showing Biktarvy Associated with Minimal Weight Gain in HIV
Gilead Sciences announces analysis showing Biktarvy (bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide) is associated with minimal weight gain compared to other HIV regimens.
Gilead Sciences today presented an analysis from multiple clinical trials showing that Biktarvy (bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide, B/F/TAF) is associated with minimal weight gain compared to other HIV treatment regimens. The analysis included data from over 3,000 patients and showed that patients switching to Biktarvy from other regimens experienced less weight gain than those switching to integrase inhibitor-based regimens containing other anchor drugs. Weight gain is a recognized concern with some HIV treatments, and these data provide important information for treatment selection. Gilead continues to monitor weight outcomes in long-term studies of Biktarvy.
