AstraZeneca Reports Phase 3 LAURA Trial Results for Tagrisso in Stage III NSCLC

AstraZeneca announces Phase 3 LAURA trial results for osimertinib (Tagrisso) after chemoradiotherapy in unresectable stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC.

AstraZeneca today announced results from the Phase 3 LAURA trial evaluating osimertinib (Tagrisso) versus placebo as consolidation therapy following definitive chemoradiotherapy in patients with unresectable stage III EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival for osimertinib. The median PFS was 39.1 months for osimertinib versus 5.6 months for placebo. These results support osimertinib as a new standard of care in stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC after chemoradiotherapy.
