AstraZeneca Receives FDA Approval for Tagrisso in Stage III EGFR-Mutated NSCLC
AstraZeneca announces FDA approval of osimertinib (Tagrisso) as consolidation therapy after chemoradiotherapy in unresectable stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
AstraZeneca today announced that the FDA has approved Tagrisso (osimertinib) as consolidation therapy following definitive platinum-based chemoradiotherapy in adults with unresectable stage III EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer whose disease has not progressed following chemoradiotherapy. In the Phase 3 LAURA trial, Tagrisso demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival, with a median PFS of 39.1 months versus 5.6 months for placebo. This approval establishes Tagrisso as a new standard of care in stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
