AstraZeneca Reports Positive Phase 3 COURSE Trial Results for Tezepelumab in COPD
AstraZeneca announces Phase 3 COURSE trial results showing tezepelumab significantly reduced COPD exacerbations in patients with moderate-to-very-severe COPD.
AstraZeneca today announced positive results from the Phase 3 COURSE trial evaluating tezepelumab in patients with moderate-to-very-severe COPD. Tezepelumab, an anti-TSLP monoclonal antibody, demonstrated a statistically significant 17% reduction in the annualized rate of moderate or severe COPD exacerbations compared to placebo. The results were consistent across patient subgroups, including those with and without elevated eosinophil counts. These data support the potential of tezepelumab as a new treatment option for COPD patients and AstraZeneca plans to submit for regulatory approval.
