Pfizer Announces Phase 3 STOP-PASC Trial Results for Paxlovid in Long COVID Prevention

Pfizer today announced results from the Phase 3 STOP-PASC trial evaluating Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) for the prevention of post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC), commonly known as Long COVID. The trial did not meet its primary endpoint of reducing the incidence of Long COVID symptoms at 6 months compared to placebo. While Paxlovid did not prevent Long COVID in this trial, the company will continue to analyze the data to identify potential subgroups that may benefit. Pfizer remains committed to understanding and addressing the unmet medical need of Long COVID.
