Pfizer Announces Updated ATTR-ACT Trial Data Showing Vyndaqel Reduces Cardiovascular Events

Pfizer today presented updated long-term data from the ATTR-ACT trial showing that Vyndaqel (tafamidis meglumine) and Vyndamax (tafamidis) continue to reduce cardiovascular mortality and cardiovascular-related hospitalizations in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). The 30-month data showed a 30% reduction in all-cause mortality and a 32% reduction in cardiovascular-related hospitalizations compared to placebo. Tafamidis works by stabilizing the transthyretin protein, preventing it from misfolding and depositing in the heart. These results reinforce tafamidis as the standard of care for ATTR-CM.
