AbbVie Announces Positive Phase 3 Results for Navitoclax Plus Ruxolitinib in Myelofibrosis

AbbVie reports positive Phase 3 TRANSFORM-1 trial results for navitoclax in combination with ruxolitinib in JAK inhibitor-naive myelofibrosis patients.

AbbVie today announced positive results from the Phase 3 TRANSFORM-1 trial evaluating navitoclax in combination with ruxolitinib in patients with JAK inhibitor-naive myelofibrosis. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in spleen volume reduction at week 24. The combination showed a 63.2% rate of ≥35% spleen volume reduction compared to 31.5% for ruxolitinib plus placebo. Navitoclax is a BCL-2/BCL-XL inhibitor that targets anti-apoptotic proteins in myelofibrosis cells. These results support the potential of navitoclax as a combination partner for ruxolitinib in myelofibrosis treatment.
