AstraZeneca Announces Positive Phase 3 WAYPOINT Results for Tezspire in Nasal Polyps

AstraZeneca reports positive Phase 3 WAYPOINT trial results for tezepelumab (Tezspire) in adults with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

AstraZeneca today announced positive results from the Phase 3 WAYPOINT trial evaluating tezepelumab (Tezspire) in adults with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in nasal polyp score and nasal congestion/obstruction score compared to placebo at week 52. Tezepelumab targets TSLP, an epithelial cytokine that plays a key role in initiating type 2 inflammation in CRSwNP. These results support the potential of tezepelumab as a new treatment option for patients with severe CRSwNP. Regulatory submissions are planned based on these results.
