AstraZeneca Announces Phase 3 BRILIANCE-HF Trial Results for Brilinta in Heart Failure

AstraZeneca today announced results from the Phase 3 BRILIANCE-HF trial evaluating ticagrelor (Brilinta) for reducing cardiovascular events in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The trial did not meet its primary endpoint of reducing the composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke compared to placebo.
