Eli Lilly Announces Phase 3 SYNERGY-NASH Results for Tirzepatide in NASH

Eli Lilly reports positive Phase 3 SYNERGY-NASH trial results for tirzepatide in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, demonstrating significant liver histology improvement.

Eli Lilly and Company today announced positive results from the Phase 3 SYNERGY-NASH trial evaluating tirzepatide in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in NASH resolution without worsening of fibrosis compared to placebo. The NASH resolution rate was 52.9% for tirzepatide versus 16.1% for placebo at 52 weeks. Additionally, 51.3% of patients receiving tirzepatide achieved at least one stage improvement in fibrosis compared to 29.7% for placebo. These results establish tirzepatide as a highly effective treatment for NASH.
