Johnson & Johnson Announces Phase 3 THOR-2 Trial Results for Balversa in Bladder Cancer

Johnson & Johnson reports Phase 3 THOR-2 trial results for erdafitinib (Balversa) in combination with cetrelimab in FGFR-altered urothelial carcinoma.

Johnson & Johnson today announced results from the Phase 3 THOR-2 trial evaluating erdafitinib (Balversa) in combination with cetrelimab, an anti-PD-1 antibody, in patients with FGFR-altered urothelial carcinoma. The trial demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival for the combination compared to erdafitinib alone. The median PFS was 8.9 months for the combination versus 6.2 months for erdafitinib alone. These results support the potential of combining FGFR inhibition with immunotherapy in FGFR-altered bladder cancer. J&J plans to submit regulatory applications for this combination.
