Merck announces Phase 3 KEYNOTE-966 trial results for pembrolizumab plus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in advanced biliary tract cancer.
Merck today announced results from the Phase 3 KEYNOTE-966 trial evaluating KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) plus gemcitabine plus cisplatin versus placebo plus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in patients with previously untreated locally advanced unresectable or metastatic biliary tract cancer. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in overall survival for KEYTRUDA plus chemotherapy. The median OS was 12.7 months for KEYTRUDA plus chemotherapy versus 10.9 months for placebo plus chemotherapy. These results support KEYTRUDA as a new standard of care in biliary tract cancer.
