Novartis Reports Phase 3 ORION-4 Results for Leqvio in Cardiovascular Prevention

Novartis announces Phase 3 ORION-4 trial results for inclisiran (Leqvio) in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, showing significant LDL-C reduction and CV event reduction.

Novartis today announced results from the Phase 3 ORION-4 trial evaluating inclisiran (Leqvio) in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The trial demonstrated a 26% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events compared to placebo, along with a sustained 50% reduction in LDL-C levels. Inclisiran is a twice-yearly subcutaneous siRNA that inhibits PCSK9 synthesis in the liver. These results provide the first evidence that inclisiran reduces cardiovascular events and support its use as a preventive therapy in high-risk cardiovascular patients.
