Novartis Reports Phase 3 Lp(a)HORIZON Results for Pelacarsen in Cardiovascular Disease

Novartis today announced results from the Phase 3 Lp(a)HORIZON trial evaluating pelacarsen, an antisense oligonucleotide targeting Lp(a), in patients with established cardiovascular disease and elevated lipoprotein(a). Pelacarsen demonstrated a statistically significant 26% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events compared to placebo. The monthly subcutaneous dosing was well-tolerated with a favorable safety profile. These results support pelacarsen as a potential new treatment option for patients with elevated Lp(a) and established cardiovascular disease.
