Pfizer Reports Phase 3 Results for Danuglipron Oral GLP-1 Receptor Agonist in Obesity

Pfizer today announced results from the Phase 3 trial evaluating danuglipron, a once-daily oral GLP-1 receptor agonist, in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity. Danuglipron demonstrated a statistically significant mean weight loss of 13.7% from baseline at 52 weeks compared to 2.1% for placebo. The safety profile was consistent with the GLP-1 receptor agonist class, with nausea and vomiting being the most common adverse events. These results support danuglipron as a potential new oral treatment option for obesity.
