Pfizer Announces Data Showing Lorbrena Prevents Brain Metastases in ALK-Positive NSCLC
Pfizer presents data from the CROWN trial showing Lorbrena (lorlatinib) significantly reduces the risk of brain metastases in ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer.
Pfizer today presented data from the Phase 3 CROWN trial showing that Lorbrena (lorlatinib) significantly reduces the risk of brain metastases in patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The data showed that only 3% of patients receiving Lorbrena developed new brain metastases compared to 33% of patients receiving crizotinib at 5 years. Lorbrena is a third-generation ALK inhibitor with excellent CNS penetration. These results demonstrate the exceptional intracranial activity of Lorbrena and support its use as the preferred first-line treatment for patients with ALK-positive NSCLC, particularly those at risk for brain metastases.
