Regeneron and Sanofi Receive FDA Approval for Dupixent in Alopecia Areata
Regeneron and Sanofi announce FDA approval of dupilumab (Dupixent) for adults and adolescents with moderate-to-severe alopecia areata.
Regeneron and Sanofi today announced that the FDA has approved Dupixent (dupilumab) for the treatment of adults and adolescents 12 years and older with moderate-to-severe alopecia areata. In the Phase 3 CROWN trial, Dupixent demonstrated significant improvements in hair regrowth compared to placebo. This approval makes Dupixent the first biologic approved for alopecia areata in adolescents and expands its use in adults. Dupixent inhibits IL-4 and IL-13 signaling, which are implicated in alopecia areata pathophysiology.
