Vertex Pharmaceuticals Reports Phase 3 Results for Pozetaciclib in Essential Thrombocythemia

Vertex Pharmaceuticals today announced Phase 3 trial results for pozetaciclib in patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET) who are resistant or intolerant to hydroxyurea. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in complete hematologic response rate compared to best available therapy. Pozetaciclib is a selective CDK2 inhibitor that targets the abnormal megakaryocyte proliferation in ET. These results support pozetaciclib as a potential new treatment option for hydroxyurea-resistant or intolerant ET patients.
