Vertex Pharmaceuticals today announced Phase 2 trial results for pozetaciclib in patients with myelofibrosis who have received prior JAK inhibitor therapy. The trial demonstrated a spleen volume reduction rate of 35% and a symptom response rate of 40%. Pozetaciclib is a selective CDK2 inhibitor that targets the abnormal megakaryocyte proliferation in myelofibrosis. These results support further development of pozetaciclib in myelofibrosis and potentially in combination with JAK inhibitors.
