Takeda Announces Positive Phase 2 Results for Mezagitamab in IgG4-Related Disease

Takeda today announced positive results from the Phase 2 IGNITE trial evaluating mezagitamab, an anti-CD38 antibody, in patients with IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD). The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant reduction in the IgG4-RD Responder Index compared to placebo at week 26. Mezagitamab targets CD38-expressing plasma cells, which produce the pathogenic IgG4 antibodies that drive IgG4-RD. IgG4-RD is a rare, immune-mediated fibroinflammatory condition that can affect multiple organs. These results support the advancement of mezagitamab into Phase 3 clinical trials for IgG4-RD.
